A Senior’s Guide to Fentanyl

Excellent Care, Decency, and Optimal Living (ECDOL) is a website created to help individuals find the right care for themselves and their loved ones. We provide detailed information on Assisted Living and other senior care options, to help you in your important decision. At ECDOL, we understand that this decision can be challenging, so we do our best to make things easier. We have a nationwide directory of Assisted Living Facilities and senior care, so you can search for options anywhere in the United States and in Canada. To complement this directory, our website provides general information, frequently asked questions (FAQs), tips, and insightful articles. We aim to be the most comprehensive senior care website available. The use of this website is offered at no charge to you or your family. If you have any additional questions, comments, or concerns regarding senior care options or our website, feel free to contact us anytime at Communications@ECDOL.org

ECDOL has added important information about Fentanyl to their website.  It includes an understanding of Fentanyl, the threat it poses and how to have conversations with adult children and grandchildren.

Stories of fentanyl have populated news outlets nationwide for years, but many individuals still are unclear about precisely what it is and why it is so dangerous. At ECDOL, they aim to inform aging adults about issues that may affect them or their loved ones. To help, they created a guide that explains in detail what fentanyl is, why it is so dangerous, and how individuals can talk to their loved ones about it.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace

Category: ParentingYouth

Helping Children in Need Sleep Better

All children deserve a safe, comfortable place to lay their heads. In Idaho and across the US, too many boys and girls go without a bed—or even a pillow—to sleep on. These children end up sleeping on couches, blankets, and even floors. This can affect their happiness and health.

That’s where Sleep in Heavenly Peace comes in. We’re a group of volunteers dedicated to building, assembling and delivering top-notch bunk beds to children and families in need.

Families who need new beds, including frame, mattress, and new bedding, should visit the website and go to the “Apply for a Bed” tab to complete a very simple application.

Early Connections– Find Child Care, Track Your Child’s Development and More

Category: ParentingYouth

Early Connections makes navigating Missouri’s Early Care & Education (ECE) system easier for families and professionals. This website is a partnership between Missouri’s child-serving agencies who are working together to make it easier for families to access programs and resources for children from birth through age five. These agencies are also aligning policies and coordinating practices to make it easier for professionals to find information and training opportunities aimed at engaging families in their child’s safety, health and learning.  The regional hub for these services includes Franklin, Gasconade, Crawford, and Washington Counties.

What is an Early Care & Education System?

Missouri’s ECE system is comprised of multiple programs that work with families and professionals to improve early childhood experiences for all Missouri children. These programs include home visiting, child care and preschool. Through collaborative efforts with state agencies, providers and communities, Missouri is working to ensure that families and other caregivers have the knowledge, resources, skills and tools available to help children grow to be safe, healthy and successful learners.

On December 23, 2019, Governor Parson announced that the State of Missouri received a $33.5 million grant aimed at coordinating a more effective, high-quality early learning system that better prepares Missouri children for success. “This is great news for our state that will allow our agencies and programs to come together and focus on the same goals to better serve communities across Missouri,” Governor Parson said.

The Preschool Development Grant Birth to Five (PDG B-5) provides funding over three years to implement an interagency effort to provide regional access to coordinated early childhood services to better meet family’s needs, enhance and streamline training opportunities for ECE professionals, and improve systems to better inform decision-making about early learning.
